Acorn Hollow Lodge is centrally located to many activities in the area.
For
boaters and fisherman, Fontana Lake, just a few miles away, offers water
skiing and game fishing. Fishing and pontoon boat rentals are
available.
There are two entrances to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park within a twenty-minute drive of the cabin. You'll find hiking trails, cascading mountain streams and waterfalls. Deep Creek Campground - a part of the National Park - has picnic areas next to the water or you can rent a tube and float down the creek - great fun for children or adults.
The
town of Bryson City is a fifteen minute drive from the cabin. Here
you can visit Island Park in the middle of the 
Tuckasegiee River, explore
the antique and gift shops, and is home to the Great Smoky Mountain Railway
- a scenic mountain train excursion. Cocktails and fine dinning are
available, as well as, several fast food locations.
Asheville with its nightlife, shopping, sports and the historical Biltmore Estate is within an hours drive.
Rafting and kayaking on America’s most popular white water river; the Nantahala, is just twenty minutes away. Tsali Recreational Area, known for some of the best mountain biking trails in the country is thirty minutes away.
It’s
just twenty miles to the attractions of the Cherokee Indian Reservation including
Harrah’s Casino, "Unto
These Hills" outdoor drama and the historical
museums of the Cherokee.
